The Tourism Commission Encourages Journalists via the “Ahsa Media Challenge to Promote the “2019 Arab Tourism Capital”

The Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage has announced the “Ahsa Media Challenge” specialized in the “tourism media” for the best media items that address “Ahsa: the Arab tourism Capital for 2019” locally and internationally. This award comes on the sidelines of the 22nd session of the meeting for the Arab ministerial council for tourism over the period of December 22 and 23. 

The “Ahsa Media Challenge” competition aims at highlighting the tourist, and the national and human heritage patterns that Al Ahsa is characterized with, which extend for more than 5,000 years and is part of the commission’s message and strategic vision to achieve the goals of the Saudi Vision 2030 “the Quality of Life” and enhancing the national personality to stimulate local and Arab journalist to present the best creative content in various media platforms, in a way that can highlight the status of Al Ahsa as the “2019 Arab Tourism Capital”, in particular and the Kingdom, in general, as a heritage tourist attraction at the Arab and international levels.  

The jury of the competition has set Wednesday December 25 as the final date for receiving the participations, and no applications would be approved after this date, where the winners’ names will be announced on the Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage’s account on Twitter at @scthKSA. 

The jury of the competition has set five criteria to accept participations, such as including the candidate media items of media messages accompanying the ministerial Arab tourism meeting, showcasing the heritage tourism dimension for Al Ahsa and connecting it with indicators of the World Tourism Organization, in addition to shedding light on the Kingdom as a heritage tourism destination at the Arab and international levels, where the fourth criterion focuses on promoting Al Ahsa as the 2019 Arab Tourism Capital and the fifth is related to highlighting the informative investigative efforts in the presented tourist items. 

Secretariat of the award has stressed the importance of committing to the criteria and constraints that had been set by the jury through sending the written media participations with a pdf extension with a link of the published item, while for the photographs, they should be admitted with a PNG extension with a link for the publishing side, while televised items and video clips, they should be uploaded to Youtube and sending the share link along with the personal and job data.
