The World Economic Forum Hosts the “Saudi Cafe”, which is an Interactive Digital Space that Embodies the Culture of the Authentic Saudi Society


Davos, Jumada I 28, 1441 hijri, corresponding to January 23, 2020: The Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage, in cooperation with the initiatives centre at the Misk Foundation, has launched the “Saudi Cafe” on the sidelines of the “2020 World Economic Forum” in Davos, which was inaugurated on January 21 and will continue for four days. 

The Saudi Cafe is a cultural space with an interactive digital space through which visitors of the economic forum can know about the Saudi society and its genuine culture, which embodies the 2030 Saudi Vision that opened windows to all countries of the world and allowed bridges of communication with various cultures so as to enhance mutual respect and understanding. 
 
The Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage, through its participation in the Saudi delegation to the event, seeks to exchange visions and ideas, shed light on the Saudi experiment in the tourist openness that the Kingdom has adopted via launching the tourist visa and welcoming visitors from all around the world, and promote the tourist elements and the heritage and historical treasures in the Kingdom, as well as reviewing the attractive investment opportunities that can contribute to developing the tourism sector in the Kingdom.

The Kingdom, represented by the initiatives centre at the Misk Foundation, takes part in the World Economic Forum for the third consecutive year with the participation of elite members of prominent commissions, sectors and well-known figures to review experiments and initiatives in facing the challenges of the future and what has been presented of empowerment programmes and innovative creative solutions in various fields, which represent the Kingdom’s achievements in prosperity, openness and entrepreneurship that comply with the directives of the wise leadership, the aspirations of the young Saudi potential and the goals of the vision.

The World Economic Forum was first held in 1971 in Davos, located on the Landwasser River, with the aim of improving the conditions of the world, and ever since it has become an annual forum for the most prominent world leaders and key figures in the United Nations, most important global organisations, the European Union and the elite of businesspeople. This year, more than 300 notable international figures, representing 117 countries, are participating in the event.
