“Two minutes” only to issue licenses for practicing tourist activities instead of 150 days

The Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage has launched a new package of e-services, where it is possible now to issue licenses for several tourist activities during a record time that does not exceed two minutes only – 120 seconds – instead of 150 days, without the need to any paper transaction. This initiative is considered a qualitative leap to be added to the pioneering achievements that the tourism commission has realized lately in developing electronic services and transactions.

This development is realized through a technological vision that contributed to launching the immediate licensing system to meet the increasing growth in the tourism sector and to facilitate steps to practice relevant activities quickly.
The general administration of licenses has worked on developing standards necessary to increase the level of quality that tourist service providers provide to domestic and foreign tourists, in a way that accords with the Saudi Vision 2030 that urges adopting electronic solutions to compete transactions easily and in record times.
Investors now can visit the specialized website TLG.scth.gov.sa to issue licenses for several tourist activities that include licenses for offices for booking tourist accommodation units, the activity of organizing tourist trips and the travel and tourism agencies.

The move is part of intense efforts by the tourism commission so as to create an investment attracting environment in the tourism sector, meet the aspirations of investors and keep pace with the increasing turnout on the tourism movement in the Kingdom after launching the tourist visa for visitors from across the world, in a bid to transfer tourism into a sustainable economic sector that is capable to compete locally and internationally in a way that contributes to creating job opportunities to citizens and supporting the national economy.
