His Excellency Mr. Ahmed Al Khateeb thanks the leadership

His Excellency Mr. Ahmed bin Aqil Al Khateeb, minister of tourism, has expressed appreciation and gratitude to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosque King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and to His Royal Highness Prince Mohammad bin Salman the Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense – may God protect them – for the precious confidence in appointing him as minister of tourism, asking God to help him in this important mission.

His Excellency the minister of tourism said that the leadership’s decision to transfer the Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage into a ministry is in line with the National Strategy for Tourism.

Al Khateeb stressed that the leadership has provided all potential needed for transforming tourism in our country into a main source of income and employment, reiterating that the move accords with the Saudi Vision 2030.

He noted that the National Strategy for Tourism aims at providing a comprehensive structure of services and offers to tourists, in addition to providing an attractive investment environment for current and new investors.

Such endeavors would increase the number of jobs in the tourism sector to 1.6 million and raise the GDP by 10 per cent by 2030.

He added that we soon will witness important outcomes in terms of investments in the tourism sector, considering the youth of the homeland as the main factor that will receive training necessary to engage them in this significant field, noting that this move will contribute to presenting a positive image about the Kingdom.

He said that our country is full of several tourist destinations that qualify it to be at the top of international destinations, something which we all work on.

Al Khateeb concluded his statement by expressing his best wishes to the homeland, leadership and people, voicing hope to be able to realize all aspirations.
