Tourism Minister Checks on Readiness of Accommodation Facilities for Quarantine Cases

His Excellency Minister of Tourism Mr. Ahmed bin Aqil Al Khateeb has checked on several tourist accommodation facilities in Riyadh to assess their preparedness, meeting the standards and ensuring full services, prior to handling them over to concerned authorities and the Ministry of Health to receive quarantine cases, as part of the efforts of the Ministry of Tourism to prepare several hotels and tourist accommodation facilities in various regions of the Kingdom. 

The Ministry of Tourism had already set a series of special terms and standards that have to be provided in tourist accommodation facilities allocated for receiving quarantine cases for all concerned authorities, at the top of which is the Ministry of Health, to be able to perform their duty easily. So far, a total of 13 tourist facilities have been provided in Riyadh with 1,892 rooms, 10 tourist facilities in Makka Al Mukarammah with 2,827 rooms and 10 tourist facilities in the Eastern Region with 1,894 rooms. 

The ministry is currently working hard to secure the biggest possible number of accommodation facilities to ensure they are ready and equipped with necessary services when needed. 

His Excellency minister Al Khateeb praised what the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is offering as part of its big endeavors to curb the spread of the novel coronavirus and its great concern about the safety and health of citizens and residents, in addition to the government’s efforts in contacting Saudis abroad to secure their return to the Kingdom and hosting them at the most prestigious hotels and facilities and offering them the healthcare necessary, as well as providing them with the highest service standards and meeting their demands while in quarantine.   

His Excellency said: We highly appreciate the national initiatives by investors and owners of hotels and tourist accommodation facilities who are willing to donate their residential units to receive quarantine cases and we hope for them to quickly contact the tourism call center on 930 to ensure they meet all the required terms and standards, praising the role integration and joint efforts among all government institutions to overcome the current crisis, and expressed the ministry’s keenness to present its best through an operations room that operates round the clock and field action teams in all the Kingdom’s regions. 

Al Khateeb​ added: The Ministry of Tourism is cooperating with all institutions to broadcast awareness messages, whether in campaigns that target tourists and investors in the tourism sector or those targeting citizens and residents.
