The Chairman of Board of Directors of the SCTH Meets With General of the WTO

THE CHAIRMAN OF BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE SCTH MEETS WITH
SECRETARY GENERAL OF THE WTO
 
HE Mr. Ahmed bin Aqil Al Khateeb, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage met on Tuesday at the SCTH headquarters in Riyadh with HE Secretary General of the World Tourism Organization Mr. Zurab Pololikashvili who is on an official visit to the KSA.

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage welcomed the Secretary General of the World Tourism Organization upon his visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

HE discussed with Mr. Zurab Pololikashvili a number of topics concerned with fields of cooperation between the Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage and the Organization and ways of fostering this cooperation.

HE Mr. Ahmed bin Aqil Al Khateeb confirmed the importance of cooperation with the World Tourism Organization at a time when the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is witnessing an important shift in the tourism sector. 

During the meeting Al Khateeb​ explained that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia relies on tourism as a major source after oil, for national economy and a major provider of job opportunities. He also reviewed a number of the most important new tourist destinations and projects within the Saudi Arabia Vision 2030 which His Highness the Crown Prince announced at Diriyah, Al-Ula, Kudya project, the Red Sea project and other projects in which the World Tourism Organization will have a role in supporting them and introducing them at international forums.

The meeting was attended by a number of senior officials at the Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage and the companying delegate of HE the Secretary General of the World Tourism Organization.  

During his visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, HE the Secretary General of the World Tourism Organization   will visit a number of tourist sites and projects. He will also meet a number of ministers, senior officials and tourist investors in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
