Aside from being the Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, His Royal Highness Prince Nayef bin Abdulaziz (God bless his soul) had a prominent role in the founding of the entity of tourism in the Kingdom.
Being a minister of the interior and the first man of security in the kingdom, his efforts were not confined to the field of security alone. He embodied the qualities of a statesman, who possessed both insight and administrative skill to address many of the issues of the homeland and citizens, and the portfolio of tourism in particular. SCTA was honored having been headed by His Royal Highness (God bless his soul) as the Chairman of its Board of Directors from 2005 to 2008.
His Royal Highness Prince Nayef bin Abdulaziz conducted the portfolio of tourism in all his wisdom and experience as a skilled person with a strong tourism vision, a perfect balance between the interests of the state and the interests of citizens. He had given appropriate guidance in maintaining the archaeological and heritage sites, with instructions not to disturb or remove a heritage building without the coordination of Tourism and Antiquities Authority in the Kingdom (SCTA).
Appointing him as the Crown Prince was the crowning to his efforts and a recognition to his life time achievements, as well as his contributions in the development of the homeland trough a number of committees he headed throughout his busy life, besides serving his religion, his King and defending his homeland to ensure its safety and security and safeguarding its assets.
