THE RED SEA

Overview

Spanning 28,000 square kilometres of Saudi Arabia's northwestern Red Sea coast, The Red Sea is the world's most ambitious luxury tourism destination, developed by Red Sea Global and backed by the PIF. The destination encompasses over 90 islands, 200 km of mainland coastline, ancient volcanoes, and the Hijaz Mountains, with a dedicated international airport that was opened in 2023. Phase One delivers 16 resorts from brands including St. Regis, Ritz-Carlton Reserve, Six Senses, and Rosewood, with the full vision reaching 50 resorts across 22 islands and 6 inland sites by 2030, all committed to a 30% net conservation benefit.

Overview:

Located 20 km northwest of Riyadh, lies Diriyah, the 15th-century city where the First Saudi State began, now one of the Kingdom’s most advanced development projects. The ⃁236.25 billion project, backed by the PIF, is transforming this UNESCO-listed site into a world-class heritage and cultural city, preserving Najdi mud-brick architecture alongside 38 hotels, over 100 restaurants, and cultural institutions, while Al-Qarin district will host academies for film, Najdi architecture, Arabic music, and performing arts, and the northern district will add a university, a library, and a large public square.

DESERT ROCK

Overview:

Built within a granite formation in the Hijaz Mountains as part of the Red Sea Project and opened in January 2025, Desert Rock is one of the world’s most architecturally bold eco-resorts. Designed in partnership with Red Sea Global, it draws inspiration from Nabataean rock-cut design and a philosophy of building within nature rather than on it. Guests arrive through a hidden valley to 54 villas and 10 suites across 30,000 square meters, including valley villas, cliff-hanging villas, and mountain cave suites, using an innovative and sustainable cooling system. It is designed for LEED Platinum certification and features a concealed tunnel entrance inside the mountain for a unique arrival experience.

Overview

King Salman Gate is a development covering 12 million square meters near Al-Haram in Makkah. Developed by Rua AlHaram AlMakki Company, a PIF subsidiary, it aims to enhance the pilgrim and Umrah experience through residential, hotel, commercial, and cultural facilities. The project will accommodate around 900,000 worshippers and rehabilitate 19,000 square meters of historic sites, creating a model of sustainable urban development aligned with Makkah’s heritage.

Overview

One of the first integrated wellness tourism destinations in the Gulf, it aims to place Saudi Arabia among leading global wellness hubs. It spans 4,155 km² in the northwest of the Kingdom on the Red Sea, within the Prince Mohammed bin Salman Nature Reserve. Developed by Red Sea Global with an investment of about SAR 52 billion, it targets a 30% environmental net gain by 2040 and runs fully on renewable energy. When completed, it will include 30 luxury resorts, +3,000 hotel rooms, 1,200 luxury residences, and a 116-berth yacht club. It also features the Corallium Marine Life Institute and has been selected as the host of The Ocean Race final in 2027.
